Invest Your Trust
Investment Trusts are 'pooled'
investments that can be invested within an Individual Savings Account (ISA) or as
a stand alone investment.
Typically, Investment Trusts (IT's)
will be investing in 200 to 300 companies, enabling substantial diversification at extremely low
dealing costs, plus, they are professionally managed by a Fund Manager, leaving
all the investment decisions to the experts.
The underlying investment is
directly in company shares, rather than units of a fund. This is known as a
'closed end investment'.
Due to there being a limited supply
of shares at any particular point in time, it also allows the manager greater
flexibility and investment options. This is because any investment may be
purchased at a discount, and the trust also has the opportunity to gear (borrow)
against itself offering potentially greater investment returns. An Investment
Trust is generally regarded as a higher risk investment compared to an
OEIC, which would
typically invest in a greater number of shares and other types of investments.

The value of SOME investments ARE not
guaranteed and can go up and down depending upon investment performance.
